Stackhouse Poland Ltd

Three leading insurance industry professionals have bought one of Hampshire's largest and longest established independent insurance brokers, Stackhouse Poland Ltd.

Jeremy Cary, James Agnew and Keith Hester who were all previously senior executives with the two major global brokers Aon and Marsh, have bought the 100% shareholding in the business from Michael Poland.

The company ,based from its offices in Liphook has a strong reputation in the Charities, Corporate and Private Client sector, with its client base throughout the UK. The new owners plan to develop the company into a pre-eminent private client boutique broker in the UK, as well as expanding its niche corporate and charity specialisation.

Jeremy Cary, who will assume the role as Managing Director believes that by using its core strengths of personal client service with a new injection of sales and marketing skills, the company will achieve dynamic growth. He says, " we will achieve our medium term goals through high quality distribution partnerships and acquisitions, and by providing the right environment for high quality insurance professionals to operate."

The Bank of Scotland provided debt finance for the deal and Stevens & Bolton were legal advisors to the buyers. The financial advisors to the MBI team were BDO Stoy Hayward. Jack Clipsham, Corporate Finance Partner at BDO comments, " this is clearly a very experienced management team, who will be very successful in the niche sectors which they propose to serve. The current management team remains with the company, as does its non-executive chairman, Peter Poland.

James Agnew James is a Director of Stackhouse Poland. He was previously Business Development Director at Aon Private Clients where he was particularly invlved in the development connections in the City of London with particular expertise in providing private client insurance programmes for professional people. He achieved substantial growth in this sector during the three years he was at Aon. He previously had experience with other major London Market brokers, including Willis.
